Ouran High School Host Club is a favorite among many older shojo fans. The satirical anime pokes fun at the shojo genre. However, it also has many surprisingly heartfelt moments woven into the story. Although it’s a comedy, Ouran High School Host Club has plenty of romantic scenes.
The most romantic scenes typically involve the main couple, Haruhi Fujioka and Tamaki Suoh. However, other boys and couples are also prominently featured in sentimental scenes. The scenes featuring these couples are the most romantic because they show how much they care about each other - even if no words are spoken.

Ouran High School Host Club Cast and Character Guide
Ouran High School Host Club created memorable and iconic characters in the shojo realm. Here's a general guide to these popular characters.
After not getting Haruhi to transfer schools when they first met her, the Zuka Club of Lobelia Girls’ Academy makes a plan for revenge. They enlist Haruhi to perform in their upcoming play - making her the star. The boys (and Haruhi’s father) are suspicious and, thankfully, end up going to the performance.
The play goes smoothly until Benio Amakusa unleashes the final step in her plan: kissing Haruhi on stage in front of Tamaki to steal her first kiss. Unfortunately for her, Haruhi has already been kissed before. Tamaki runs up to the pedestal where Haruhi and Benio are standing, and yells, “Jump down!” to Haruhi. She obliges, and for one, shining moment, the two are locked in a fairy-tale gaze as Haruhi’s “hero” comes to save her. The moment doesn’t last long, since she crushes him. But the princely spirit is there for a moment.

When the Host Club decides to take their clients on vacation, it isn’t the paradise they hoped it would be. While a few of the girls are enjoying the sunset, they are harassed by some local boys. Thankfully, Haruhi is there to step in.
Haruhi gives the boys a piece of her mind, but they start to turn on her next. One of them even forces Haruhi to the edge of a small cliff, which makes her fall. Thankfully, Takami arrives just in time to dive in after her and save her. The way Tamaki cradles Haruhi's head as he brings her back toward the surface shows how much he cares for her (even if their subsequent fight doesn’t paint him in the best light).

The pair head out after a rainstorm to look for him, but Haruhi keeps encountering terrifying and creepy critters.

When Haruhi decides to get a summer job, the boys of the Host Club simply can’t leave her alone. They travel to the Bed and Breakfast she’s working at and do their best to get in the proprietor’s (and Haruhi’s) favor. Unfortunately, fate has a different scenario in mind when Haruhi’s middle school friend, Arai, arrives at the B&B with a produce delivery.
The moment that Arai looks at Haruhi, his face instantly glows pink. The background goes white and yellow leaves billow around them. Arai timidly asks, “Haruhi… Fujioka?” before Haruhi acknowledges and says a quick hello. The two stare back at each other like two lovers who are seeing each other for the first time after twenty years. Although Haruhi doesn’t have the same feelings for Arai that he has for her, it is still one of the most romantic moments. Arai and Haruhi realize that they had past chemistry in that moment.

Things go downhill when a sudden thunderstorm and an old friend pop up. Hikaru gets jealous and leaves Haruhi behind. When he finally realizes she went after him, Hikaru eventually finds her cowering in a church. Hikaru then takes a cloth, wraps it around her and puts his headphones on her ears so she can’t hear the noise from the storm. He also puts his arm around her, and holds her close as he apologizes. This is not only one of the most romantic moments, but also one of the most shocking, coming from Hikaru. It turns out that Kaoru was right, and all Hikaru needed was someone to show him the true meaning of empathy.
4 Tamaki Helps Haruhi Get Her Items From A Pond
Episode 1, "Starting Today, You Are A Host!"

Haruhi diligently begins picking up her items when she notices someone helping her. Princely Tamaki is there trudging through the pond to get her stuff. He also reassures Haruhi by making the comment that he’s “Dripping with good looks,” which is a phrase that comes back later in the show. Tamaki is known school-wide as the most beautiful, privileged student. Yet, he is right next to Haruhi when she needs it. This scene is the first time Haruhi sees Tamaki in a new light and sews the seeds for their eventual relationship.

With this information, Tamaki devises a devious plan.
Eventually, the Host Club brings them together by tricking them into seeing each other in the darkened school hallways during the ball. A misunderstanding leads to Suzushima chasing Kasugazaki outside, where Tamaki announces that they will lead the final dance of the ball. Suzushima takes the opportunity to ask Kasugazaki to dance, thereby showing how much he feels for her. Not a lot of words are said during this scene, but it’s the characters’ facial expressions and the romantic, cherry blossom-filled background that make it all the more picturesque.
