Recruiting Roundup: Taking A Look At The 17 Official Visitors Who Made Their Way To Montlake (2024)

Happy Sunday Husky fans. As I mentioned last weekend the Huskies have had a busy weekend with 16 official visitors in town to check out the Husky program (visits will be wrapping up today and we should hear about how the trips went. So far we haven’t heard about any commitments that have been made, but I would assume if any commitments are made we will find out over the next couple of days.

I can’t remember a recent visitor listed as loaded as this weekends and Huskies fans should be excited about the talent that made it to campus. Last weekend I detailed out which prospects were on campus and there haven’t been many changes (but there were a couple), but here is the official list of who made their way up to Montlake:

4 star tight end Kaleb Edwards from Oak Ridge HS, CA is one of the top tight ends in the country. Rated as the 6th best tight end in the country, Edwards holds offers from around the county but is looking primarily at Alabama, Auburn, Texas, Oregon, UCLA, and UW. Edwards would be a massive pickup and the Huskies are in the thick of his recruitment. Listed at 6’6” and around 225 pounds, Edwards is an excellent pass catcher already who will need to add some bulk once he heads to college. It is expected that he will make several other official visits before committing sometime this summer.

4 star defensive back Dijon Lee from Mission Viejo HS, CA is the top rated prospect that was on campus. Rated as the 40th best player in the country and 4th best cornerback, Lee recently narrowed his recruitment to a top 4 of Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, and UW. The Huskies have been recruiting Lee for a long time and they would love to add him to their class. Listed at 6’4” and around 190 pounds, Lee has elite size that the NFL and college programs covet at the position. Lee will make visits to Georgia, Alabama, and Texas A&M before he commits on June 28th.

Another 4 star defensive back who made his way to Montlake is Daryus Dixson from Mater Dei HS, CA. Rated as the 11th best cornerback in the country, Dixson hails from one of the biggest high school football powerhouses in California. The Huskies have been lying low in the recruitment for Dixson, but they now are in his top 3 of his recruitment and are battling Penn State, and Tennessee for his recruitment. Listed at 6’0” and around 190 pounds, Dixson is a physical cornerback with a 6’6” wingspan. Dixson is set to visit Tennesee and Penn State before he makes his commitment.

Another Mission Viejo HS, CA prospect who visited Montlake is 4 star wide receiver Phillip Bell. Rated as the 29th best wide receiver in the country, Bell has visits set to Ohio State, Tennessee, Penn State, USC, and UW. The Huskies are looking to add at least another wide receiver to join Raiden Vines-Bright (probably 2) and Bell would be an elite addition to the wide receiver room. Bell is set to visit Ohio State, Tennessee, Penn State, and USC before he commits. Listed at 6’2” and around 195 pounds, Bell has the size that college and NFL teams covet at wide receiver.

4 star linebacker Matai Tagao’i from San Clemente HS, CA who is currently committed to USC headed up to Seattle to check out the city and program. Rated as the 9th best linebacker in the country, Tagao’i is one of my favorite players in the 2025 class, and is a true difference maker on the field. Listed at 6’4” and around 190 pounds, Tagao’i flies around the field. Although he is currently committed to USC, Tagao’i has stated he will visit Texas along with UW to make sure he made the right decision. It would appear that his recruitment is far from over and if the Huskies could somehow land him it would be a massive win.

4 star wide receiver Andrew Marsh from Katy Jordan HS, TX was a late confirmed addition to the visitor list. Marsh, who is rated as the 10th best wide receiver in the country by 247sports, holds offers from most of the major programs around the country. Getting him on campus was a major win for the Huskies and they surely put themselves in the thick of his recruitment. Listed at 6’1” and around 173 pounds, Marsh is an elite wideout who has the speed, and elusiveness to score from anywhere on the field. The Huskies will need to beat out Texas, Oklahoma, and USC (who Marsh has set official visits to) in order to reel him in, but getting him on campus was a major win.

Another 4 star visitor from the Lone star state that made his way to Montlake was Smith Orogbo from Alief Hastings HS, TX. Rated as the 22nd best defensive lineman in the 2025 class, Orogbo is looking primarily at Texas, Oklahoma, Texas Tech, and UW (all schools he is set to officially visit). Listed at 6’4” and around 220 pounds, Orogbo has the speed to be a menace on the edge. Getting him on campus was a major win for the Huskies and they appear to be a dark horse candidate to land Orogbo (Texas has the lone crystal ball prediction currently).

4 star linebacker Madden Faraimo from J Serra HS, CA made his way to Seattle for an official visitor. Rated as the 16th best linebacker in the country the Huskies are battling Notre Dame, Ohio State, Texas, and UW. Thee Huskies are going to add at least 2 linebackers in the 2025 class. Listed at 6’3” and around 230 pounds, Faraimo is a very physical linebacker who isn’t afraid to come downhill and attack ball carriers. Faraimo has set officials to Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Texas as well.

4 star wide receiver Chris Lawson from Archbishop Riordan HS, CA is another wide receiver the Huskies are after that was on campus. The Huskies are in on some big-time wideouts in the 2025 class and with 3 recent wideouts drafted the Huskies likely have a good selling point to recruits about the potential of coming to Montlake. Lawson is rated as the 24th best wide receiver in the 2025 class and is looking primarily at UW, Cal, and Oregon. Lawson can score from anywhere on the field and has official visits set to Cal and Oregon before he commits.

4 star athlete Dylan Robinson from Bonita HS, CA is another 4 star prospect who was on campus. Robinson, who is rated as the 8th best athlete in the 2025 class, is looking at Notre Dame, Utah, UCLA, and UW. The Huskies appear to be recruiting Robinson at defensive back, and with his size he could be an elite safety/cornerback (he’s listed at 6’3” and around 190 pounds). He has already visited UCLA, and is set to visit Utah, and Notre Dame before he commits.

If you like defensive line beef then you should be excited that the Huskies were able to bring in 3 star defensive lineman Chace Sims from Randle HS, TX. Listed at 6’3” and around 300 pounds, Sims is rated as the 58th best defensive lineman in the country and one of the top defensive lineman in Texas. Sims has visits set to LSU, SMU, Kansas, and Texas Tech in addition to his visit to Montlake. There is no doubt that the Huskies could use a top tier defensive lineman to anchor the defensive and Sims appears to have the talent to do just that.

3 star linebacker Cyrus Polu from Desert Hills HS, UT was the lone visitor from the beehive state this weekend. Polu, who is rated as the 62nd best linebacker in the 2025 class and a player that the Husky coaches really like. With offers from most of the west coast programs Polu is one of the top linebackers out west in the 2025 class. The Huskies would like to add a few linebackers in the class and Polu will be a name to watch over the next couple of months (he is set to visit BYU, Utah, and Michigan State as well).

3 star offensive tackle John Mills from St. Ignatius College Prep, CA is one of the top offensive tackles on the west coast. As one of the top lineman on the Huskies board Mills was an important visitor for the Husky staff (he is listed at 6’6” and 320 pounds). The Huskies are battling Texas, Cal, Nebraska, and Florida for Mills (but it’s seemingly more of a UW and Texas battle). Mills is rated as the 38th best tackle in the 2025 class and Texas will get the last shot to impress Mills next weekend before he commits.

Also on a visit along the offensive line was Demetri Manning from Bellevue HS, WA. Rated as the 22nd best interior offensive line, Manning is the top offensive lineman in the state in the 2025 class. The Huskies are battling Miami, Oregon, UCLA, and Arkansas for Manning. The Huskies have been somewhat slow playing Manning for a while, but have ramped up their recruitment for Manning. Listed at 6’7” and around 340 pounds Manning has the size to step in right away and compete for a starting job. I will be following Manning’s recruitment and will be interested to see if he the Huskies can reel him in.

Along the edge of the line the Huskies brought in 3 star prospects Devin Hyde from Menlo-Atherton HS, CA. Hyde, who is rated as the 51st best edge in the country, has been interested in the Husky program for a while. Listed at 6’5” and around 225 pounds, Hyde has a good motor and is pretty physical along the line. The Huskies are battling Cal and UCLA for Hyde (he has already visited UCLA and next weekend is set to visit Cal).

2 committed players were on campus helping the Huskies recruitment in the 2025 class. Those players were 3 star quarterback Dash Beierly from Mater Dei HS, CA and 3 star offensive lineman Jake Flores from J Serra Catholic HS, CA. I am sure both players were in the ears of their peers trying to sway some of the recruits and bond with them.

4 star linebacker Christian Thatcher from Arbor Heights HS, NV was scheduled to visit this weekend but he moved his visit back to June 21st to give the Huskies the last official visit (which should be taken as a good sign for Husky fans).

That is all for today and if there are any commitments that happened I will make sure and share them as soon as I can. As always follow me @asieverkropp.
