Coffee Tea Bags

Coffee Tea Bags. Have you ever heard of these? They are just like tea bags, but with coffee instead, it’s basically just coffee in a teabag. You can buy them at the store but today we are going to learn how to make them ourselves at home. They are unbelievably easy!

Coffee Tea Bags are great when you want to be able to take a cup of coffee on the go for occasions like camping, travel, a hike, or just wanting a cup of your own brew in this office.

You can use this method of brewing coffee for regular ground coffee beans or for instant coffee. Of course, the coffee won’t taste quite as strong as what you will get through a traditional coffeemaker, but it will still be the flavor that you enjoy without settling for hotel coffee.

How To Brew Coffee in a Coffee Tea Bag

You’ll need:

  • Reusable Tea Bag – (Learn how to Make Your Own Tea Bags)
  • Your favorite Coffee Grounds (dark roast, light roast, medium roast, it doesn’t matter!)
  • Hot Water

I started with a reusable tea bag that I posted a tutorial on a while back. If you don’t want to make them, you can always buy some reusable tea bags instead.

Then, I poured about a tablespoon or more of coffee grounds (I had used my coffee grinder to grind up my favorite coffee beans) into the bag, Finally, you just steep coffee in your little pouch in boiled water in a mug for about 3-5 minutes or so and enjoy!

If you want to use cold water to make a cold brew style coffee with your coffee tea bags, you can do that. Just keep in mind that it will need to steep for much longer, at least 8-12 hours before it’s ready.

These are great to use when you only want to make one cup of coffee and don’t want the clean up of the coffee pot or french press. So easy, so simple, so delicious, great for those needing some convenience drinks!

This would also be a great way to take your favorite coffee drink on vacation or camping without having to pack your whole coffee pot! Or make up a batch of them and keep them at work if your office doesn’t offer a coffee pot.

Tip: Don’t throw away those used coffee grounds! Here are some Ways to Reuse Coffee Grounds. You can also add them to a compost bin.

You could always make Coffee Bags and fill them up and toss a few in a jar or gift bag. I know I would love love love receiving these little coffee pouches as a gift.

If you aren’t sure if your friends would like to reusable version, you can make them single-serve coffee bags by getting some of these eco-friendly disposable tea bags to put the coffee in instead.
