I’ve previously found a way to make a Starbucks cold foam at home after testing multiple combinations of skim milk and whipping cream.

Now, here I’m making a non dairy version, which Starbucks also has available for their cold brew coffees. This includes almond milk and oat milk foam.

Here, I’ll show you how to make a cinnamon flavored cold foam, the Starbucks Cold Brew with Cinnamon Oatmilk Foam.

How do you make oat milk foam?

The Starbucks Cold Brew with Cinnamon Oatmilk Foam is made with Ice, Brewed Coffee, Oatmilk, Vanilla Syrup and Cinnamon.According to the Starbucks website, it has 50 calories.

To make oat milk foam, Starbucks has their own special cold foam blender, but if you’re making it at home and don’t have this special tool, I found a milk frother will work.

How do you make Starbucks cold brew with almond milk foam?

There is also an almond milk version of this recipe, the Starbucks Cold Brew with Cinnamon Almondmilk Foam.

It’s made exactly the same with the same ingredients, with the exception of almond milk instead of oat milk. According to the Starbucks website, it contains 40 calories.

I have found that making dairy free cold foam works best with oat milk but making it with almond milk isn’t impossible. It just doesn’t hold as long as oat milk and tends to sink into the coffee faster than oat milk.

Tips for Making Cold Brew with Cinnamon Oatmilk Foam

Cold Brew Coffee

To make cold brew coffee, you’ll need around 12 to 15 hours to allow ground coffee to steep in water.

I make a large batch at the beginning of the week, store it in a mason jar and put it in the refrigerator to have on hand to make cold brew coffee drinks like this one.

I chose to use a French press for this cold brew recipe. Here’s how I did it:

  1. Grind coffee beans coarsely. I used Stumptown French Roast coffee beans. (You can find coffee beans that are marked as cold brew coffee beans, but you do not have to exclusively use these beans to make cold brew. Chose your favorite, or for this Starbucks copycat, you can use a Starbucks blend, like their House Blend.)
  2. Place coarsely ground coffee beans and water in the French press. I use a 1 to 3 ratio. 1 cup of coffee beans to 3 cups of water.
  3. Put the cover on the French press on but do not push the plunger down just yet. Set aside for 12-15 hours.
  4. When ready, press the plunger down to strain, pour cold brew coffee in a mason jar to store in the refrigerator.

Oatmilk Cold Foam

I used my electric milk frother, which has a cold setting to make cold foam. It’s convenient to have this for steaming milk and foamed milk as well.

But if you don’t have a milk frother and want to make cold foam right now, try these other methods. It’ll just require a little more work on your part.

  • Blender – put cold foam ingredients into the blender and blend until it foams.
  • French press – put cold foam ingredients in the French press and press the plunger up and down vigorously until foam forms.

Vanilla Syrup

I used Monin Vanilla Syrup.

You can also make this at home. All you need is sugar, water and vanilla extract. Here’s how:

  1. Measure equal amounts of sugar and water. I use ½ cup sugar and ½ cup water and 1 tsp of vanilla extract.
  2. Place ingredients in a saucepan and heat on medium heat.
  3. Stir until sugar dissolves. Set aside to cool.
  4. Store in a mason jar in the refrigerator.

Ice

While I used regular ice cubes, you can also use coffee ice cubes, a little coffee hack so you won’t ever have watered down coffee.

You can use extra coffee you have from a pot you’ve made in the morning. And you can also add coffee syrups to flavor them.

How to Make Cold Brew with Cinnamon Oatmilk Foam

  1. Make cold brew coffee. Check out our guide to making cold brew coffee here. I used a French press and let the coffee beans steep in water for 15 hours.
  2. Make cold foam. Froth oat milk, ground cinnamon and vanilla syrup in a milk frother.
  3. Pour cold brew coffee and ice in a glass. Top with cinnamon oatmilk foam.
  4. Optional: Sprinkle ground cinnamon on top.

Step 1

Step 2

Make cold foam by frothing oat milk, ground cinnamon and vanilla syrup in a milk frother on a cold setting.

Step 3

Pour cold brew coffee and ice in a glass. Top with cinnamon oatmilk foam and sprinkle more ground cinnamon on top.
