Sheriff releases name of victim in fatal collision near Tunnel City (4)

TUNNEL CITY, Wis. (WXOW) - The Monroe County Sheriff's Office has released the name of the person killed in a collision between a car and a dump truck on June 11.

Justin Hackett, 45, of Sparta, died in the crash.

He was heading east on Highway 21 near Tunnel City when his vehicle crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a westbound dump truck.

The collision set the dump truck on fire.

The driver, Matthew Strohmeyer of Mauston, was able to get out of the truck. He was not injured.

Highway 21 was closed for seven hours for the investigation, and cleaning up the scene.
